You keep saying that there is nothing quite like giving government the power to dictate the medical circumstances of our deaths is not like another thing. You are correct in that. There should be nothing quite as scary as giving government employees the power of life and death. Folow the link in my last post before this one. At least with businesses the choice of another company to provide coverage is always an option. When it comes to government the option is to move into a different jurisdiction. My forefathers fought to give me freedom. Having to leave because my contemporaries wanted to destroy the noble experiment and create a government with too much control over our lives is not high on my list of things to do today (or this decade, century, etc.). "You seem to be obsessed with this 'charity' thing" Not at all. But let us remain focussed. Because a person underwent a terrible circumstance is not a reason why I must be made to fix their problems. That is what parents do for small children. The idea of a government with that much control over our lives should scare you as much as it does me. "I wonder if you would have said the same when Medicare was being debated/created." I was not alive then. Most likely freedom loving people at the time fought it.
