I've been trying to follow this long and convoluted discussion, mostly without success.

Corporations aren't treated as persons, they're treated as legal entities. If they were people, they could vote, or be arrested and jailed. They can't.

That, also, would be preferable to having had the legal privilege extended whole-cloth by reason of either 'judicial activism', (or else bribery and document doctoring....)
