Crimson, in a plutocracy, it is money that dictates. I had a boss at Siemens who usually used to say: "The one who pays is the one in charge." Of course you need a press where the editors know who is paying, thus who is in charge, and walk the line and the ignorant masses, see the streets clean and go home satisfied: we are good. Thanks God this happens only la bas... :-)
