I put the rice in the gumbo...everyone I know does.

That is the traditional way of serving gumbo. Ladle it into a bowl and add cooked rice. I like chopped scallions as a garnish, and hot sauce. Unfortunately for my waistline, I never met a gumbo (or a chowder) that I didn't like.<g>

I like William's idea. I really love putting slop over rice. LOL
