Tommaso, In the US oil prices have historically traded at 8-10X nat gas at the well head, while the BTU equivalence is 6X. The periods of equivalence have been brief. You are correct that there have been some very brief moments when nat gas has spiked and traded above equivalence. Don't know about Canada.

I do not have any investments in Canadian Tar Sands -- but I am interested in considering this seriously. What would should an Tarsands neophyte look at for long term growth? TIA.

Converting automobiles or (more commonly) buses to natural gas is possible but not much practiced yet.
China has entire city taxi and bus fleets on NG and looks to be increasing this. I wonder why we do not have more of this in NA, not just in the US..
