Maybe i didn't phrase my response too well - i refuse to answer the question on the basis of, first inability, second a suspicion that it is too much question for the parameters within which it is supplied -g- ... seems to involve a lot of ifs, some of them big IFs, so if i may take the liberty of re-phrasing your question to me -

'What would you do if presented with the question of whether, if you had funds to buy only one, you would buy Astral or Mantle?'

Well i would weasel right out of it, of course ... i'd say there has to be context, and more IFs [and more money in the world as well, just a matter of capturing it] ... and then bring up alternatives for both, probably Kent for the Astral and Lysander/Eastfield for the Mantle [although caution in order there, lym/etf traded up friday, lym gapped]

Zinc is decidedly unsexy right now, especially compared to gold at the other end of the glory spectrum, it would be pretty hard to commit new funds to base metals ... so forced between the two i'd take Astral, which i do like and hold [and will be trading madly - the ltb&h is ktn imho], however i'd be careful in bidding, keep aware of those warrants, there's lots of them, could sell back unless they hit big at JJ, in which case it's a new game

'would you rather buy MMG or CKG' - again, i'd rather hold both, and if there's only enough money for one, then the solution is simple - go get some more money ... they are so much the same though aren't they, although i think if Randy had the silver data Merlin does he wouldn't keep it such a deep dark secret for quite so long

But for a pure drillbit play at today's prices i'd add to kex.v first, not ast.v ... partly because i'm already well exposed to JJ/Chenier through ktn.v, but more because Kent is closer at the moment to its bottom, further from its realistic top in a speckie run ... that's arguable of course, but imho ... ast/kex are quite similar in tight share structure and drilling close together, ast does have the Carolinas play back east but kex has Rosebud which i personally like better, plus its market cap du jour is less than half of ast, while it has imho a powerful promo group behind it, none of the little spikes this year are anywhere near where it's going on the mildest hit, imho

kex.v - that's my final answer, lol ... but only IF i was nicely overweight in ktn.v, which happens to be the case
