The function of the wind towers en.wikipedia.org

Besides the wind tower technology. They do another thing:

dig a cellar, cold air drops there through a center opening towards the ground floor. They add a pool of water -like a fountain- to add to the cooling effect of the air.

During the night the cold air falls there and removes the hotter air that raises up.

Coming from +43C outside, you go inside and feels really cool. Tehn you order tea and seat down beside the pool of water.
