"... and that people will forever inhabit this planet, although I don't suspect that to be the case... however, if you ask me, I would more likely maintain that there is an upward limit available, yet enough of a supply to go around until our sun expands into a supernova and devours all the planets in its wake..." I, too (assuming we don't kill ourselves off entirely somehow in the next two centuries or so while still largely 'Earth-bound'), assume that there is NO WAY humankind will content itself with just this one small planet when there is an entire universe out there for the inhabiting.... Kinda like 'Manifest Destiny' writ very large. :-)
