'Hindu girls targeted by extremists'

Muslim extremists who try to force teenage Hindu girls to convert to Islam are being targeted in a new police crackdown.

The recruiters – often paid £5,000 for each success – are stepping up 'aggressive conversion' tactics, especially around universities, religious leaders believe.

The Metropolitan Police have stepped in after commissioner Sir Ian Blair said many Hindus felt neglected by Scotland Yard.

Some young students have been beaten up and forced to abandon their courses by extremists, Hindu leaders told a security conference.

Islamic extremists invited the girls on dates before beginning campaigns of 'terrorism' until they converted, they claimed.

Ramesh Kallidai, from the Hindu Forum of Britain, said: 'Extremist Muslims make life miserable for Hindu girls.

'Some are petrified; they feel these men have complete hold on them.

One girl was beaten up in the street and others have been forced to leave university.'

The problem was most common in cities such as Birmingham, Leeds and Bradford, he added, while London universities had 'at least two or three cases' each.

Mr Kallidai estimated hundreds of girls had been targeted, with some reports of Muslim boys being offered £5,000 'commissions'.

Minnesota Congressman Files Bills to Loosen Voting Requirements
AZCONSERVATIVE ^ | 3 Nov 2007 | John Semmens

azconservative.org

Representative Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) has introduced legislation to ban photo identification as a requirement for voting in federal elections.

Ellison’s bill aims to compel all the states to follow Minnesota’s law, which prohibits the use of photo IDs for the purpose of verifying voter eligibility. This bill is paired with another Ellison-sponsored measure that would allow voters to register to vote at the polls on election day.

“When we force people to show photo identification it’s like saying we don’t trust them,” Ellison said. “This is not a sound foundation for a people’s republic.”

Ellison characterized same-day registration as a “matter of convenience.” “People are busy, they may forget to register ahead of time,” Ellison observed. “Should they be disenfranchised for this?”

The congressman brushed aside the contention that these measures could lead to vote fraud. “Those who say that same-day registration makes it impossible to check for eligibility before votes are cast are showing their intent to exclude voters,” Ellison claimed. “We shouldn’t be erecting complex procedures to hold down the vote. Everyone should be able to vote. If a few undocumented people vote or some mistakenly vote more than once, well, that is a small price to pay for ensuring that everyone gets a say in who will run the government.”

Britain’s Anti-Semitic Turn
City Journal ^ | Unknown | Melanie Phillips

city-journal.org

In August 2006, as the war in Lebanon raged, a gang of teenage girls confronted 12-year-old Jasmine Kranat and a friend on a London bus. “Are you Jewish?” they demanded. They didn’t hurt the friend, who was wearing a crucifix. But they subjected Jasmine, a Jew, to a brutal beating—stomping on her head and chest, fracturing her eye socket, and knocking her unconscious.

According to the Community Security Trust, the defense organization of Britain’s 300,000-strong Jewish community, last year saw nearly 600 anti-Semitic assaults, incidents of vandalism, cases of abuse, and threats against Jewish individuals and institutions—double the 2001 number. According to the police, Jews are four times more likely to be attacked because of their religion than are Muslims. Every synagogue service and Jewish communal event now requires guards on the lookout for violence from both neo-Nazis and Muslim extremists. Orthodox Jews have become particular targets; some have begun wearing baseball caps instead of skullcaps and concealing their Star of David jewelry.

Anti-Semitism is rife within Britain’s Muslim community. Islamic bookshops sell copies of Hitler’s Mein Kampf and the notorious czarist forgery The Protocols of the Elders of Zion; as an undercover TV documentary revealed in January, imams routinely preach anti-Jewish sermons. Opinion polls show that nearly two-fifths of Britain’s Muslims believe that the Jewish community in Britain is a legitimate target “as part of the ongoing struggle for justice in the Middle East”; that more than half believe that British Jews have “too much influence over the direction of UK foreign policy”; and that no fewer than 46 percent think that the Jewish community is “in league with Freemasons to control the media and politics.”
