Not smarter, just older. I've seen too many boom-n-bust cycles not to believe in them.

Louisiana, like most places heavily dependent on commodities, had more than its fair share, but of course California has seen its own, as various segments of technology (aerospace, defense, communications, etc.) boom and bust on a different but eerily similar pace.

Parabolic up means parabolic down. I call it the fickle finger of fate. Draw a chart and you'll see what I mean. ;^)
