Honor, i must admit i'm terrible on food knowledge - so, i dunno if i'm putting enough of everything in it -BUT- sometimes one just has to hope for the best and stay angled in order to miss the bugs :-) But gotta admit, this is pure trial and error!

We are into pretty straight food without too much sauce these days. When I cook, it's just things I can sprinkle or spray on.

Sometimes I mix illogical foods, like broccoli and oat meal for breakfast sometimes. Haven't done that in a while.

One small trick I've learned in my old age about cooking is adding a bit of wine makes food taste so much better, and after I'm done glugging mine, I pour some in whatever I'm cooking.
