There are a lot of good doctors who don't have 150 IQ. Very few people have that level. I don't know the exact percent but maybe 1 in a thousand, one in ten thousand, something like that. Doctors probably have a higher IQ than average but it wouldn't be more than 1 percent of doctors, maybe much less.

If you have a complex medical problem, and you have the resources to afford the best care than it pays to seek the best, if you can identify them. But I'm not so sure that the best necessarily means "over 150 IQ". And for more common minor problems it probably doesn't pay to seek out the very few that can be identified as major standouts. Not only for the cost, but also because someone who is an "IQ genius", or esp. a genius by the definition I use below", might be more in to experimental types of treatment, that in reality often turn out to not only be cost effective, but even just "safe and effective", at least compared to normal treatment. Bleeding edge medicine isn't something you really want to deal with on a regular basis, except perhaps if its your only hope to deal with a complex chronic condition.

But my main point is that isn't the only way to define genius. I wouldn't use that term just for scoring high "genius level" on an IQ test. To me a genius is someone not only of great intellect, but someone who has the ability to use that intellect to discover, create, or figure out new meaningful ideas. Newton and Einstein where geniuses, few people are.
