Its far better to try to run a country and improve the lot of your people than to play by Rubin's rules.

Hamas and Fatah are of a different opinion. It's their vote that counts.

Time for a change and at least Olmert and Abbas are saying things that make me hopeful

Abbas has said that Israel has to give up all the WB & Gaza, half of Jerusalem, AND set a date for Palestinian statehood - all before the talks can even begin! Oh boy, I can just guess what the demands will be AT the talks!

Of course, Abbas is a powerless figurehead and far too weak to give up anything. So naturally he demands everything. If such a farce makes you hopeful, enjoy it.

Meantime, Rubin's Rules will provide the most accurate guide to the future. In this respect, the Pals never disappoint.
