A point of interest (perhaps):

The Kitco chart for the Canadian dollar gold price shows it up 6.12% in the past year.

As a benchmark I use the Canadian dollar S&P500 index: It is up 10.6% in the past year.

thanks for that but I knew about kitco....unless we are talking about different places that is only a 24 hour chart...

Doesn't matter that much I was just interested in comparing the gains in gold vs GBP vs USD since I live in both worlds...

Yea now Brown is the PM....shocking huh? and nobody brings up the gold either....
