VT bad things can and may happen but most of the time the powers that be have as much or more to lose than us little guys and things get papered over or bailing wired together IMO.

E trade may have toxins if they were related to the E bank but I am just taking a wild guess I really have no idea.

WGDFF goes AMEX on Thursday. Not a value play but it has done well.

Re: Ameritrade. I queried them and they do not take positions or underwrite. They are merely facilitators. Or so they say. I think the main risk with them is your MM sweep account which is commercial paper and thus vulnerable.

Well they could VT. Funny Tom and I were discussing this off line before I came over and read this thread....

......all these brokers use a clearing house. They all have some kind of money market fund they park your cash in...it really is NOT cash....The question is what exposure to this is toxic debt? Until recently we thought money market funds were t-bills and the like....now we know different......
