BS aka KC, Iran doesn't produce nuclear power reactors, so the whole power station thing is an import effort.

They could, instead of piping the gas 1000s of km, through $bns of pipeline, pipe the gas to a huge petrochemicals, aluminium smelter, power station, industrial zone and export the energy in the form of aluminium, plastics, methanol, chemicals. That would earn them a LOT more money than just shipping methane 000s of km to be burned in power stations in India, which would more sensibly be nuclear power stations.

China has got a lot of US$ which they would be happy to invest in such facilities in Iran, and China would also be an excellent customer for the output.

The reason for building the nuclear reactor in Iran rather than India is because Iran wants atomic bombs to blow up Jews, Americans, Iraqis, Russians and anyone else their Islamic Jihad ideology nominates as a worthy recipient.

It's pretty simple.

Not only would they save the cost of the pipeline by using the gas in Iran, a huge pipeline crossing 3 or 4 countries is geopolitically vulnerable. Pakistan is sometimes not friendly with India and stopping a pipeline pumping to India across Pakistan [and maybe Afghanistan] would be very easy and tempting.

It's amazing how easy it is to fool people. Look at the WMDs for example. It was pretty obvious that there were no, or negligible, WMDs but nearly everyone was gung ho to stop them and stop mushroom clouds over Manhattan.
