By Bernd Radowitz

Of DOW JONES NEWSWIRES

RIO DE JANEIRO (Dow Jones)--The Brazilian real closed at a new seven-year high against the dollar Wednesday amid heavy foreign investor inflows.

It was the strongest close for the Brazilian currency since April of 2000.
