"...and the thread schmucks are fixated on musharif assuming emergency powers.'"

Ya gotta admit we are in a pickle here. We've got troops on the ground in Afganistan with Musharraf supposedly watching our backs. What options are we offered in Pakistan? A military dictator who took power in a military coup dismantling the constitution. I've never felt good about our alliance with a guy like that. Under pressure from us he brings back constitutional governement but when his dictatorial reign is challenged, we see it isn't real. Should we let him be over run by the most potent enemy we have, or support him with contingencies to honor his constitutional government ... something that's beginning to look a little iffy. As you know, I've been predicting a radical Pak revolution for some time. I hope this isn't it but I agree it is an emergency situation that could turn out badly for us.
