1% a month? That must have people pretty depressed, especially those trying to sell by chasing the market down.

Have you noticed a dropoff in restaurant and shopping traffic, a sort of reverse wealth effect?

Here in East TN there are many Floridians waiting to move and close on houses here, but can't sell their homes in Florida.

Besides the obvious drop in values, apparently it is becoming increasingly difficult for people buying in Florida to get homeowners' insurance - due to many insurers pulling out after the Hurricanes. Of course the banks won't close on the sale without the homeowners insurance ....
