Take a late walk at night in Stockholm and do the same in NYC, the difference in homeless seen camping on the streets is quite large.
NYC winters are as cold as Stockholm BTW.

I'm not sure that I'd say there is less poverty in Sweden, but its probably true that if your in poverty, and aren't expecting to get out soon, that poverty isn't as bad in Sweden.

You may not be saying there is less poverty but the statistics are. Tim, the point that everyone is making is that per capita income in the US is far less democratic than it is in the Nordic countries. It doesn't matter overall what the US's GDP is if a good section of Ameirican people are excluded from its benefits.
