How about the upcoming launch of the iPhone in the UK and Germany starting this Friday. That has to count for something. We really haven't heard a lot of "noise" on that yet. Just a thought. It also doesn't hurt that the chart looks ready for another leg up.

Does anyone know what the next catalyst is that will get Apple's stock moving up once again? The iPhone, earnings, and the release of the new OS are now old news. So, they have lost their "punch" with respect to moving the stock. Their importance now is to grow revenue, which implies we may have to wait until the next earnings report to get the stock moving again.

Good earning this quarter and a wild set of announcements at Mac World. Other than that expect the stock to tread water for the next few months unless the MO MO guys pump it into the end of year.

Just looked at the charts for the last 5 years and the pattern is pretty much the same this time of year.

As long as it doesn't fall off the cliff I'm happy.

That rumor of a new MacBook is popping up again, if it actually happens it would be another little nozzle for the AAPL rocket engine. It's a "page 2" item (minor news, lower probability) on macrumors.com

I've got 2 friends ready to buy MacBooks, and looking for news/deals/advice. This might be something really new, or maybe just a small change in configuration.

macrumors.com

description:
"We've heard multiple reports that shipments of MacBooks have made their way to Apple Stores with specific instructions that they are not to be opened. While it was originally presumed that these new MacBook shipments simply represented MacBooks with Leopard pre-installed, the instructions not to open the boxes raises some questions.

We've heard various (conflicting) claims that they represent the upgraded MacBooks we've been waiting for, but we're not sure why Apple would ship them out so early."

Some comments on the news say the stores might be allowed to open the boxes next week.
