If you are worried about terrorist - then you darn well better make an attempt to understand why they hate us so. Ron Paul has this one right. BY continuing to create terrorist - which is what our policy is now doing - it becomes an ever increasing problem.

Steve, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it's not hatred of our policies that most angers the radical islamists. They hate us so because we are kaffir (or kuffar, in another spelling) -- unbelievers. The goal of radical islam is to spread islam far and wide. It's about restoring the Caliphate. We are in their way and must be converted, subjugated or killed. No amount of making nice with the radical islamists will work with them.

Suggest you read some of Bernard Lewis's books if you have any interest in the topic. I'd recommend you start with "The Crisis of Islam - Holy War and Unholy Terror."

Cheers.

For starters...Breaking: Two held in terror cell raid
Press Association
Tuesday November 6, 2007 3:03 PM

guardian.co.uk

Two suspected members of a European terror cell that recruited suicide bombers and insurgent fighters have been arrested.

Officers from Scotland Yard's extradition unit supported by counter-terrorist officers swooped on homes in London and Manchester.

In a series of co-ordinated raids, 18 other suspected members of the Islamic extremist cell were arrested in Italy, France and Portugal. Italian police said the cell, based in northern Italy, recruited insurgents to fight in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Scotland Yard said the two men are accused of forging documents to help volunteers enter Italy illegally and now face extradition.

Ali Chehidi, 34, and Mohamed Khemiri, 53, are due to appear at City of Westminster Magistrates' Court.

Phone calls intercepted by the Italian security services suggested that the plot could date back to 1998.

Eleven suspects were arrested in the northern Italian cities of Milan, Reggio Emilia, Imperia and Bergamo.

Italian Interior Minister Giuliano Amato said most of the arrested people were from Tunisia.

In operations that also involved local officers, Chehidi was arrested at Burcott Road, Purley, while Khemiri was arrested at Dinnington Drive, Manchester.

A spokeswoman said: "Greater Manchester Police's Counter Terrorism Unit have ... assisted the Metropolitan Police to arrest a man in Manchester. The Metropolitan Police Extradition Unit arrested the man ... on an international arrest warrant."

Steve, perhaps this is the time you start listening to opinions of others, so you won't be bored with just your own.

There are about 1.3 BILLION Muslims in the world (CIA World site and others.)

Of those Muslims, estimates are only 1-10% that are Radical Fundalmentist Islamofacists. But if there is "ONLY" 1,500,000 Radical Muslims, that's still quite a few.

You know, the type that the EU countries arrested today in 5 Countries, with weapons, poisons, AQ guidebooks, etc etc etc... and more will be forthcoming soon....

And the kind that hijacked our airplanes AND our HUNDREDS of passengers, and flew them into buildings that housed THOUSANDS of people....they did this with not a care in the world.

EXCEPT THEY HATE.

Even Wiki has some good info and lots of links:
en.wikipedia.org

PLUS the fact that since the Qur'an was written, many of the Muslims either profess to hate Americans, Christians, and Jews, OR the rest of their numbers do NOTHING to quell the others.

Maybe and until, the majority of this section of people in the world STOP their radical terrorism, you and we all should ask the question: "Why don't we hate them? Why do we bend over backwards trying to understand their ways? Why are we so politically correct, while they continue killing our citizens?"

To tell you the truth, I'm getting pretty tired of pandering to them.

then you darn well better make an attempt to understand why they hate us so

As far as Ron Paul is concerned....he and Kucinich are right off the chart to the bottom of the heap as far as I'm concerned. If the unlikely scenario happens that Ron Paul is the Repub candidate, I won't vote.

As far as "Bush opened our borders"....Did you want to continue trading by yourself?

I also notice none of the Dems have made any screeching noises about securing our borders either. This issue is so much an issue with many of us, that it would be the tipping point to require Term Limits if they don't get a grip and get this terrible ILLEGAL entry into our country.
