I'm not a physics major, but it seems like common sense that alternatives like wind and solar are going to become even larger money makers in the near future. And these commodity problems coupled with grass roots demand for limiting damage to the environment will drive demand for alternatives so far and fast that they will become economically viable in their own right, despite efforts by unfriendly governments to squash the burgeoning industry. When solar can compete with coal generated electricity without subsidies, I will celebrate like it's 1999. I might even play the old Prince song in my happiness. ;)
