"I suppose if you're a terrorist supporter, then you'll have some problems with the Patriot Act..."

Nah... THEY like the weakening of our Democracy and freedoms.

(It falls right into their game plan as the vastly smaller and weaker opponent in this episode of asymmetrical warfare.)

...It's the American patriots who don't like the Orwellian-named 'Patriot Act'.

Although it does contain some quite reasonable (and perhaps even useful) tweaks to our laws... it also has some quite unhelpful crapola, useful mostly only to permanently enhance the power of the Executive, irrespective of whether there is any war on or not.

(A lot of the provisions are things that have been just hanging around, sitting on the shelf waiting for the proper opportunity to be forced through, ever since the Clinton administration - when it was first turned back.)

The Patriot Act and our open borders don't add up; we've been scammed.

The terrorists you speak of are no threat whatsoever to the existence of the USA. They cannot destroy America. Sure they can kill people, but even in 2001 you were 5 times more likely to be murdered by a fellow American than by a foreign jihadist. So the so-called threat is merely an enabling mechanism to promote certain political goals of the current administration.

The real terrorists want you to hate everyone who reads the Koran or prays 5 times a day. They want you to bomb farmhouses and kill children in Iraq, to torture your prisoners, to unleash your mercenaries on the common people of the city, and to flaunt your military power in the face of the Arabic speaking people. In this way you help them in their goal for a holy war with the infidel. I would guess by this measure you are likely more of a terrorist supporter than I am.
