I don't see World War III on the horizon, with all respect to the President. I don't think that kind of hyperbole helps anything...and probably weakens the credibility of his efforts. In Pakistan right now we are seeing what happens when you "dance with the devil". This guy met (meets) all the criterea we used to assign to other dictators, but he is a guy we will tolerate in the name of "fighting terrorism". Well, anytime some strongman wants to clamp down on democracy now, they just say they are fighting terrorism. At some point we need to ask if there is any line we won't cross. I grew up during the period the USSR had five thousand nukes aimed at me and planes circling the arctic circle daily. You did too. Are we to be more scared now? This fight doesn't seem serious partly because we are told we don't need to sacrifice, to pay taxes to support it, to volunteer our services, to go without....You just returned from a wonderful world cruise. Could you do that during World War III? Do you really believe it could be as serious as you say without any of those things being demanded of us by our leaders? Is that leadership?....To pass the costs of the struggle to our children? I am not one who sees things in black and white. There are a dozen shades of gray at work here....as is usually the case.
