So, anyone going to take Steve's advice (though apparently not his example) and invest your hard earned savings in risky "alternative energy" schemes?

Go for geothermal energy companies. It's as close as you can get to throwing money down a hole in the earth.

Be careful. If you ..invest your hard earned savings in risky "alternative energy" schemes? you might end up with a company like Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas.
