If you are holding gold as money and gold is rising, then your money is able to buy more than if you held a form of money that is declining in value. If you are holding Canadian dollars or yen right now you are probably experiencing or going to experience something similar. Price levels are quoted in currencies -- you must specify the currency to comment on the movement of price levels. The dollar is plunging -- really truly plunging. For anybody holding dollars, prices are going up. Get ready for $4 a gallon gas and it won't seem so theoretical.
