When I was involved with pro wrestling, people used to ask me how fake the holds were. Those two, the figure four leg lock and the Iron Claw, hurt like hell, if applied by someone who knows what he's doing. Now that I watch Mixed Martial Arts, I have seen many UFC and Pride fighters employ the figure four. The Iron Claw is a different subject. Yes, it hurts like hell, but it leaves the user with one hand down and within reach of his opponent. That tends to be a poor position when fighting a professional puncher. Using it is disallowed by most dental plans. <G>
