A huge fiscal deficit combined with loosey goosey monetary regulation is the worst of all worlds. Bush is responsible for the first and appointed the guys in charge of the second. Tell me again why we shouldn't blame the guy responsible?

A deficit can often be a positive or not such a negative if it is used as an investment. The New Deal is an example of deficits that helped build the country's infrastructure and were very positive for long term growth. The deficits run to support The Vietnam War and Bush's Middle East adventures are examples of nothing gained.

Bush had to kill the dollar. It worked together with his bellicose foreign policy. How else could he push oil prices up this high for his crooked pals and his own retirement account? Bush traded a tech bubble for an oil and real estate bubble. Not a good tradeoff for America, though it made me some money.
