not the right kind of day to come out and declare that US enterprise business was going to remain "lumpy". A somewhat insensitive choice of words.

Maybe he is just being truthful. Things might have really changed since the August earnings release. I saw an interview of him and you can see it in his expressions versus last quarter.

The real problem may be that techs in general might not be the safe haven that most of us thought. That makes many large cap techs risky since most do get about 1/2 of their sales from the US.

Little reason to go overweight technology any longer. Risk/reward is not as good as it used to be.

It's funny but JC has used those terms before on many occasions over the years. I saw him on The Nightly Business Report tonight and thought the interview went well but he gave his standard boiler plate language about the stock taking care of itself. Gads, this is a very large company and is growing straight as a rail upwards. Smooth and consistent. At least it doesn't have the problems of a bank stock. <gg>

AMAT should do ok going forward but the pure plays will have higher growth. Thin film silicon has a place but companies such as Evergreen have stumbled badly with the technology. The fun part is all of the solar, wind, wave and geothermal is turning into a great horse race. There is some really neat engineering happening now!
