wow...he sounds like a modern day Alexis de Tocqueville

What made America great was her ability to transform her own dream into hope for all mankind.

Note that Sarkozy also issued a call-to-action on Global Warming.

Demonstrating he's a real leader in touch with the scientific consensus and reality. And yes, it was a great speech, all-around. Sarkozy is a massive improvement over previous recent French leaders.

Great Speech from the new President of France!

America did not tell the millions of men and women who came from every country in the world and who—with their hands, their intelligence and their heart—built the greatest nation in the world: "Come, and everything will be given to you." She said: "Come, and the only limits to what you'll be able to achieve will be your own courage and your own talent." America embodies this extraordinary ability to grant each and every person a second chance.

Sarkozy: America 'built the greatest nation in the world'. That's what he told our Congress today. He meant it for his countrymen to hear.

I hope he takes some pictures home.

Speech by President Sarkozy Before Congress

That was one powerful speech. It affected me.

I have been to many of the places he spoke of. Merely recalling a visit is sufficient to stir the, liberty for all, yearnings in one's soul.

I am in favor of reinstating the triumvirate of America, Britain and France. And I am in favor of his intent to support NATO with troops and money rather than the UN.

Reversing that coin, my cynical side hopes we don't have to save France a third time. Their Muslim population is around 9% and climbing and they have plenty of extremists in that group.
