The immune system always takes a few days to ramp up. The T cells and B cells specific to the bugs proliferate in lymph nodes, with a division cycle time (i.e. doubling time) of about 8 hours. You go from having only a few hundred of these cells to having millions, but it takes time. TJ, it seems your T cells were in business as usual and your other immune facilities did their business too. The other silly things, rubbing back flat out, and "fire cupping" are old wives' tales malarkey fit for ignorant and superstitious people. You could as well invest by examining chicken entrails. There are always people willing to come up with some load of old cobblers to separate the gullible from their money. "Alternative" medical treatments are now very popular in NZ as science has received bad press for decades and is now considered [among many ignorant people] to be just another bunch of charlatans. Unfortunately, doctors and "scientists" all too often give good reason to question their intellectual horsepower. The Catholics have Lourdes and exorcism. Maoris have Tohungas and mysticism. Aztecs have hacking out of hearts of young women to propiate the Gods and gold to worship and give them temporal value. Mqurice
