if you can't use it to pay for everything you buy it is a strange kind of money indeed.


"Legal tender" is euphemism for "politicians promise"


so far as i know the only promise behind "legal tender" is that you will get locked up if you use a kind that is not legal. if you expect laws to cease to exist so that you can pay your electric bill with bullion, i think there will be better things to stockpile than gold.

All of which are imported -- makes sense to me -- give people more room to rack up more debt to import more stuff -- that will solve our problems.
