Somewhere on TV last night (it may've been the CMA Awards) a lady mentioned her son Huck, and I thought, gee, the poor kid could've been spared a lot of future grief with a different name.

That reminds me,

My daughter was watching "America's Most Smartest Model" the other day (Ben Stein is one of the hosts).

One of the questions was "who was the author of "Huck Finn."

One gal pondered a while and then said, "Huck Finn???"

Names are such a funny thing...but if someone doesn't like their given name, they can always change it to something they do like. Given my druthers, I would have chosen Elizabeth, but not Betty, or Liz.
