The government can issue money without borrowing it at interest from private bankers who create it out of thin air and then charge you for it. The Greenback of the US Civil War era was a successful government-created money. The economy prospered by any reasonable measure. The banksters killed in in the 1870s and captured the whole monetary franchise with the creation of the Federal Reserve. Things have gone really well, since, eh?
