Look at the way we've come back today. If we make it all the way back I'm guessing that word of some sort of fed action is leaking out

Wow, I've never heard that one before. Whatever happened to the concept of "control inflation" ?? I thought that was job numero uno??

That's what they like us to believe.. but think about it.. When's the last time a major US bank was permitted to just close up shop when they made bad business decisions?

It just doesn't really happen.. they get bought out, restructured.. bad debt written off, all while the Fed coordinates the bailout, and acts as the lender of last resort.

Everything else in the US economy is "expendable".. But the banking and investment sector??... Well.. without a sound financial system, you won't have much of an economy.

Maybe I'm just being a cynic, but that's how I perceive it.
