Human life is a little more complex than just any one simple thing that motivates behavior.

Of course and I've never suggested otherwise.

But the point is that the profit motive is the most reliable way to motivate production of what we need. Not only because its nearly universal, but also because it responds to price signals that carry information which would otherwise be unavailable.

As I said in the last post - But neither (passion, nor charity) can practically replace the profit motive as a reliable way for use to have most of the goods and services we need or want.

The last two paragraphs of this post cover the important idea, one that you chose to ignore in your response.
