Dems pander to the left wing of their party and the republicans to the christian right. Many feel that there isnt a dimes worth of difference between the two parties. Bush is the anamoly in all of this because of rove he never moved to the center to govern and took 9/11 on as an opportunity to refight vietnam. One could make a case for afganistan and iraq in fighting islamo-facists without turning it into a referendum on vietnam. Many folks supported iraq who were against vietnam.
