Michael, I'm not even close to being a pacifist. I'm just not willing to go to war for lightweight reasons pursuing impossible goals.

It's a lot more palatable to send soldiers to die for such wars than it is to die for them yourself. Try this test and see what you think Bush, Rice and Cheney, Nadine and Rough Cut Gemstone would do:

Would they continue the war in Iraq if they knew that one of the five of them WOULD die, and that the others might die?

Faced with that grim reality would staying in Iraq suddenly seem in their views to be less vital to critical American interests?

And, if the answer was "no," would they change their minds after seeing one of them get literally ripped to spaghetti?

I think I know the answer and that's one reason it makes me furious to hear their silly happy-talk while our soldiers are dying and killing over there. Ed
