RE PLG.to Pelangio:

from another thread:

After Phase I & II drilling (100,000m), I believe Detour will have at least 6.5+ million ounces M & I. This is predicated on $575 gold up from the original $450 gold resource estimate. The drill results from Phase I have exceeded expectations in all areas of the open pit, especially in the gap zone. Some of the most recent drill results have been outstanding:

2.48g/t over 110.5m
2.69g/t over 91m
2.5g/t over 120m

DGC have found additional ounces in the gap zone, hanging walls and extended the site of the Calcite zone. The additional 20,000 m drilling program just announced will only add to the known resource and lead to a bigger open pit.

I estimate that Detour Gold will have close to 8 million ounces M & I (assuming a $650 gold price) by the end of 2008 with a BFS in hand. In addition, they have the luxury of already holding a mining permit in a mining friendly location (this will give DGC a premium valuation compared to its peers). Consequently, DGC will have all the majors looking at them for at least $200/oz. This gives DGC a valuation of $37+ per share.

DGC has huge leverage to the price of gold. If gold continues to move up from here then $37 will be a cheap purchase for any acquirer. I still do not know how to value the Trade Winds JV gold resource (approx. 3 million ounces total), so I have left this out of my calculations.

If 8 million ounces doesn't do it for you, it doesn't hurt to have one the best management teams in the world running the company.

If you believe this poster and i dont think its outlandish because another canadian company was recently purchased for $150 per ounce in the ground, that would make plg worth at least $10 canadian without its ghana play. Plg.to continues to be my favorite gold exploration company. PLG has 20 million shares of detour gold, and 71 million shares outstanding. it closed at $2.40 can. on friday.
