I agree with you too. Want proof? Cisco has an INCREDIBLE quarter by every measure, and yet, Chambers makes the mistake of saying sales to financial institutions are suffering. The media makes hay out of this statement to the tune that the world is ending and Cisco stock goes down 5 points in 3 days. That is unadulterated hysteria.

We have plenty of fear. Buying great companies like Cisco, even as the rest of the folks out there are screaming bloody murder is a great way to make an excellent return in a short period of time.

>the thing is the market is a cauldron of fear and has been this entire decade. So you read tons of articles and posts on various blogs that "we need to go down another 1000 pts" etc. Personally I think there is plenty of fear in this market right now.

fear and aversion to risk is different for each individual or entity. that is what makes our markets so exciting. coming from a background of many years in the derivatives market, i find the current market action concerning yet strangely comfortable ... otherwise i would not have added cisco leaps this past week to my current cisco position.

no one wants to lose another 10 to 20% on their portfolio values over november to december. but it seems we should be prepared for great turmoil. it would be nice if things somehow picked up over the next few weeks.
