I don't think you can blame the scripting of questions for the Bush presidency. No one knew what Bush was going to be like. Heck, if you look at the stuff he said before the election (election numero uno), and the stuff Cheney said, they look like pretty reasonable, if conservative, guys, who would never engage in something as silly and costly as nation building.

That, imo, is why people are so mad at him. They bought a pig in a poke. If they'd bought the pig knowing what it was like from the beginning, I doubt they'd be quite as angry, but people always hate being sold a fake, and especially a fake who ignores their wishes and best interest.

I don't think Hillary is as likely as Bush to disregard what the country wants.
