Bush became a Washington creature, intoxicated with the power of executive orders, unlimited spending to suit his own clique's interests, starting wars that didn't exist before he pushed the button, appointing incompetent cronies and keeping them in office far beyond when their incompetence has been exposed, and so on. All in the name of saving the country when the real agenda is promoting his own clique and trying to cement his party's hold on power.

Thankfully he will not have a lasting legacy for the last two things. But when I see would-be presidents lining up to do much of the same in a similar style (albeit probably not as ugly) I get depressed. Another presidency like this and hardly anyone will remember Washington was every any different before the Bushes and Clintons became our dynastic leaders.
