That authority, in addition to not being necessary, has been renewed and probably will be again. - invasion was a fact agreed - occupation generally happens after invasion And we were the occupying power in Iraq, until we turned over power to an interim government that itself turned over power to an elected government. Puppet regime doesn't describe the situation. Yes they are dependent on our help at the moment, but its not a regime that was set up just to give a local face to a behind the scenes American rule. Subjugation isn't an issue. We aren't subjugating Iraq or trying to do so.
