No, you broke the mold. And on top of that, you must not have seen my first comment: Not all of these folks were violently anti-everything their parents, grandparents, and ancestors farther back stood for, but many many were!
"Well, you got part of it right. :-)"

On top of that, you're wrong. <gg>
"I'm never wrong! Ask mph! :-)"

It wasn't the group right before the boomers....(that's the Sandwich generation born 1935-1945)....it was the folks right before them....the kids born about 1918-1935 that helped fight the depression, and signed up for WWII....a few of this group were the Great Gatsby types, and probably did bring the Reds into government....
"Me thinks the lady does protest to much!
You're cutting your cheeses so thin it's falling apart!"

Two of my siblings were also born in the boomers era....they didn't fit either. Neither one was out breaking windows, rioting, sniffing whatever, going to Woodstock etc etc ....
"A minority were. THAT's what's wrong with that broad brush!"

But the third one rebelled...
"That's high!"

she dressed as if she had just fallen into a rag bag, loved birkenstocks, and said a few naughty words just to make my folks see purple....
"Did she smoke pot? Do rugs? Protest? Throw rocks at cops? Live in a commune? Drive or ride in a flower VW bus? Burn a flag?"

But none of them were anything close to Jane Fonda types, who went to VN and help to murder our Military guys....just by being there and saying what she said.
"I rest my case."

See, I told ya' you weren't paying attention....<ggg>
"I ALWAYS PAY ATTENTION! ASK MPH! :-)"

I liked Goldwater too....Have often wondered how the world would have changed had he won....Didn't like his running mate Miller too much.....we went to Lockport all those years ago, stood in the hot sun for 4 hours, just to see their kickoff campaign....
"VN would be democratic or fine dust."

And as I've said, had our very first prime example of media bias. We had just heard with our own ears, Goldwaters speech. However on the way home, do you think ABC said or played anything that Goldwater actually said?
You can bet your bippee they didn't. ABC had Humphrey on to tell everyone what Goldwater said....which was so far wrong, it was if Humphrey was on another planet.
"Surprised? :-)"
