How many more americans would have died than did. What happens inside a country isnt always under our control. Why cant you folks understand that? You dont have to be an isolationist to understand that? Sometimes a bad country does horrible things and if they are a powerful and bad country but not violating sovereignty of others, there is little you can do. Devastated europe was the spoils of war back then and russians took as much as they could and we protected what we could. To have fought a war with russian then would have been a disaster. We might have lost on the ground and resorted to nuclear attacks of major russian cities. How can you not know this?
