They did blow it. The tax cuts and the war on terror are aok IMO. But they proved that they could spend and grow government like no Democrat has done in the past. Very, very disappointing. This congress is now trying to even outdo the Republicans and fortunately the Republicans are trying to show some fiscal sanity again. Just too bad they didn't take that ball and run with it when they had the power to do so. They could have done so much with SSI, etc and they just totally squandered the opportunity. Quite sad actually. Took the drink of power and spent like they were a drunken sailor on his first shore leave.
