Nobody just WANTS tax hikes. Some politicians would like the government to provide some more services. Some politicians would like to make sure our bridges don't collapse. Some would like to pay down the debt. While those are all things that might require raising taxes, I'm sure there isn't a single politician who wouldn't rather do them without raising taxes, if possible.

The picture of Democrats as compulsive tax-raisers is stupid-ass propaganda. Period. Not only doesn't it make any sense, it does not bear out over history.

To imply otherwise is out-and-out lying.
