Michael, re: Yes i respect his service too, but this is america and if you attack nadine, you cant just let UW off the hook.

Michael, first I don't attack Nadine and I didn't "let UW off the hook." I attacked her vacuous opinions and her unwillingness to change in face of contrary facts and her long record of being really wrong and then I disagreed with UW on the Kerry issue and on his stated views concerning Obama's feeling for this country.

Second, there's a very big difference between Nadine and Unclewest. The difference lies in the fact that Nadine is very free asking for other people's sacrifices and Unclewest was very free making sacrifices himself.

I have a very high respect for people I might disagree with but who put their lives, their health and their butts on the line consistent with their beliefs.

As you'll recall I once asked whether Nadine and Rough Cut would still be avid Iraqi war hawks if they knew that among the five of them including Bush, Cheney and Rice, one of them WOULD be killed and the others might be killed if the war continued. Based on all their posts and the fact that they don't seem to have made ANY real sacrifice in support of that war, I think the answer to that question is pretty clear.

If, however, Unclewest believed in that cause you could bet your ass that the answer, for him, would be a definite "yes."

He's a long way from being a war wimp. That makes a big difference to me. Ed
