I agree....

It wouldn't be much of a 'reform' if it ignored big problems like the AMT.

And, Hell, the AMT was only put in as a kind of 'patch' anyway because of the perception that a lot of very wealthy were taking advantage (legal advantage, of course!) of the welter of complicated loopholes and 'special tax preference items' that exist in the massive tax codes, to sky away without paying much in taxes.

So, if there ever was TRUE REFORM, and most of those special interest aimed tax loopholes were removed --- there wouldn't be any justification for the AMT anymore, now would there? :-)
